BEI joins the American Medical Association’s (AMA) NDLSEC to develop standardized national disaster medicine education programs
BEI joins the AMA’s National Disaster Life Support Education Consortium (NDLSEC) – tasked with developing standardized national disaster preparedness training programs for responders, clinicians and all healthcare providers.
Having trained thousands of clinicians to make ethical decisions when faced with difficult resource allocations and life and death choices in the wake of disasters—such as Hurricane Katrina, the terrorist attacks of 9-11, or in the event of a 1918-like pandemic influenza— BEI has emerged as a leader in disaster preparedness ethics research and education and has affected the care of close to 1 million patients.
