Congress May Prohibit Genetic Testing for Jobs and Health Coverage


The first U.S. legislation preventing the use of genetic testing by employers and insurers may soon pass congress.  

About 15,500 genetic disorders affect 13 million Americans. Most Americans are genetically predisposed to between 5 to 50 serious disorders. Fifteen percent of all cancers and ten percent of adult chronic diseases have genetic precursors, according to the Education and Labor Committee.  Read more…
